Verizon’s Motorola Droid X will be $199 with Contract

Finally, the Motorola Droid X smartphone was officially announced by Verizon Wireless. The handset will be available starting July 15, and will be priced at $199.99 with a new service plan for 2 years and after a $100 mail-in rebate. The device will runs Android version 2.1 (Eclair) operating system at launch. Then you will receive the Android 2.2 (Froyo) and Adobe Flash Player 10.1 with an over-the-air update in the latter half of the summer.

The Verizon’s Motorola Droid X features a 4.3-inch touchscreen display with 854 x 480 pixel resolution, a virtual keyboard with Swype technology, 8-megapixel camera (with Dual LED Flash, autofocus, image editing tools), 720p HD video recording capabities, HD Playback via HDMI or DLNA, Wi-Fi, DLNA, A-GPS, eCompass, Google Maps with free navigation, HDMI port, 3.5mm headset jack, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, WebKit based browser (HTML5), 8GB of internal memory, and 16GB microSD pre-installed.

This Verizon cell phone is powered by 1GHz processor and running on CDMA 800/1900, EV-DO Rev. A network. Its 1540 mAh battery can deliver up to 480 minutes of talk time or up to 220 hours of standby time. It weighs 155 grams and measures 127.5 x 65.5 x 9.9 mm.
